Project SEARCH Celebrates Launch, Rochester Expansion
Novemebr 20, 2010 -- Program Helps Young Adults with Developmental Disabilities Transition to Work World
John Dasfais wants a job. The 21-year-old Spencerport student, who has a developmental disability, wants to earn a paycheck and, hopefully, move out on his own. Tom Golisano Donates $10.2 Million to Assure Continued Support for Programs and Services for People with Developmental Disabilities
November 3, 2009 -- Ann Costello, Director of the Golisano Foundation, announced today the receipt of the Foundation’s largest gift, $10.2 million given by founder Tom Golisano. This gift is also the largest Golisano has made to any organization since 2002, when he donated $14 million to Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Read more

The Key of G Rochester Film Premiere Monday, May 11 Explores Relationship Between a Young Man with Severe Disabilities and and His Artist and Musician Caregivers
April 22, 2009-- The Institute for Innovation Transition, a collaboration of the Golisano Foundation and the University of Rochester, will showcase The Key of G, an award-winning documentary about disability, caregiving, and interdependence and a disabled man's transition into adulthood. Read more

NYS Institute for Health Transition Training Launches New Web Site
March 3, 2009 -- Be sure to explore this new Web site, an interactive curriculum and toolkit for youth with developmental disabilities ages 14-25 years, family caregivers, and health care providers. The site was developed in partnership by Golisano Children's Hospital at Upstate, Upstate Medical University and NYS Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC). It seeks to raise awareness for developmental disabilities, improve communication, and build effective partnerships during the transition from pediatric to adult health care. Read more

Annual Message from Ann Costello, Foundation Director

December 31, 2008 -- As I look back on 2008, I reflect on another year of exciting programs and impressive public policy initiatives for individuals with developmental disabilities. The highlights were many, and included the launch of the Institute for Innovative Transition at the University of Rochester’s Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) at Golisano Children’s Hospital, a Pet-assisted therapy program offered by Lollypop Farm, drama and music therapy classes, a variety of summer camp programs and expanded recreational opportunities, among others.
