A busy clinician, board certified in developmental/behavioral pediatrics, neurodevelopmental disabilities and pediatrics, Dr. Stephen Sulkes is also director of the University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities in University of Rochester Medical Center's division of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. He also directs the interdisciplinary Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities program and the UR Fellowship program in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics. Dr. Sulkes works toward giving those with developmental disabilities the same opportunities for high quality health care in the same settings everyone else has. He aims to provide equal opportunities to participate in all aspects of community life. "And to help kids enjoy health care environments by having fun with them," Sulkes said.

He received his BA in Medical Science and his MD from Boston University. He interned and completed his residency at SUNY Upstate Medical Center and then completed his
