Construction on new 128-bed state-of-the-art pediatric medical facility is scheduled to begin in 2014 with the new facility scheduled to be open and be fully operational in 2017.

Lee Memorial Health System Foundation celebrated a community commitment of more than $80 million in donations and pledges toward its $100 million Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida capital campaign goal with a Ceremonial Groundbreaking today. The event was held in the Atrium at HealthPark Medical Center located at 9981 S. HealthPark Drive, Fort Myers.

Participating were the hospital’s namesake benefactorB. Thomas Golisano, Lee Memorial Health System President Jim Nathan, Lee Memorial Health System Executives, Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida medical staff, patients, donors and partners and prominent members of the business community.

The new facility is being built on the campus of HealthPark Medical Center in Fort Myers.
